For properties with off-street parking, we can install an EV home charger. The installation process commences with an on-site visit to evaluate your specific requirements. After accepting our quote, we order the necessary hardware and set a date for installation. The charger links to your home's main electricity supply and charges your vehicle via a connector cable. You just need to plug your vehicle into the charger, often overnight, to benefit from cost-effective, environmentally friendly energy.

How long does it take to install an EV charger at home?

The time needed to install a home EV charger depends on the specific circumstances of the installation but usually takes between 2-4 hours. Our professional team ensures a quick and efficient installation to minimise disruption.

Are all electric vehicles compatible with the charging points you install?

Our installed charging points are compatible with the majority of electric vehicles in the UK. Nevertheless, it's essential to confirm compatibility with your specific vehicle model during the installation planning process.

How much does it cost to install a home EV charger?

Installation costs can vary based on factors such as the type of charger, your property's unique requirements, and whether any government grants apply. We provide a precise quote after the site visit.

Can I use a normal plug socket to charge my electric vehicle?

Though it is technically feasible to charge an electric vehicle with a standard UK 3-pin plug socket, we do not recommend it for safety reasons. Regular household sockets are not designed for the high current draw of EV chargers over long periods, risking overheating and potential fire hazards. A dedicated EV charging point offers a safer and faster charging solution with specialised safety features for electric vehicles.

What government assistance is available for landlords looking to install an EV charging point?

The UK government's "EV Chargepoint Grant" provides landlords with financial support for installing electric vehicle chargepoint sockets. Landlords can receive either £350 or 75% off the installation cost, whichever is lower. Up to 200 grants are available for residential properties and 100 for commercial properties per fiscal year.

Yes, individuals who own or rent a flat or a residential property with private off-street parking can apply for the "Electric Vehicle Chargepoint Grant". They can receive either £350 or 75% off the cost to buy and install a socket, whichever is lower.
